Remarkable Achievements

• Writ Petition No.3591 of 2010 (A K Khan Co.Ltd. -vs- BTRC and Others): In the matter of share transfer of the A K Khan Company a Judgment was passed in favour of BTRC. Where the company needs to pay USD 19.5 million to the BTRC as a transfer fee. This sum is equivalent to BDT 1,316,700,000 (Taka one hundred and thirty one crore and sixty seven lacs) only. Lex Counsel is established to assist the commercial and business community in such a way that they can concentrate in doing their business without being concerned about any legal or burocratic impediments. • Writ Petition No. 8904 of 2011(GrameenPhone Limited-vs-BTRC): As a counsel played an important role on behalf of BTRC against Grameen Phone Limited. Where the Hon'ble High Court Division passed a Judgment to pay BDT. 3,624.03 crore (Taka three thousand six hundred twenty four point zero three crore) only to BTRC as the spectrum assignment fee against spectrum allocated to Grameen Phone Limited.


• • Writ Petition No.11992 of 2016 (Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board -vs- Summit Power Ltd.): As a counsel on behalf of the Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board(BREB) against Summit Power Ltd. won a Judgment regarding the price of the electricity. In this Judgment the Hon'ble High Court Division gave the decision in favour of the BREB for not to increase the price of the electricity.


• • Civil Appeal No.279 of 2010(Jamuna Television Ltd.-vs- Sec. Min. of Information and others): The High Court Division passed a Judgment in favour of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), where the Hon'ble High Court orders that the authority of the Jamuna Television would not broadcast or transmit any telecommunication without having obtained required licenses and NOC in accordance with law from the concerned Ministers and Authorities.


• • Writ Petition No. 2984 of 2016 (SM Anamul Haque -vs- Chairman, BTRC and others): A Judgment was passed from the Hon'ble High Court Division in favour of BTRC, where the Hon'ble High Court ordered to ensure that all the mobile operators would needs to do the biometric verification of their consumers in accordance with the law and respective compliance issued by the BTRC.


• • Company Matter No. 231 of 2016 (Robi-Airtel Merger): In the matter of merger between the two giants in the Telecom sector namely 'Robi Axiata Limited' and 'Airtel Bangladesh Limited' important rule played on behalf of BTRC to complete the scheme of Amalgamation subject to the findings, observations and directions.


• Writ Petition No. 9263 of 2011 (Orascom Telecom Bangladesh Limited-vs- BTRC and others): An important role played one behalf of BTRC against Orascom Telecom. Where the Hon'ble High Court division passed an order to pay BDT. 2,018.75 crore(Taka two thousand eighteen point seventy five crore) only to BTRC as the spectrum assignment fee against spectrum allocated to Banglalink.
