Md. Ishtiaque Ahmed
Mr. Ahmed was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2013, prior to which he has earned his Certificate for Master of Laws in International Commercial Law. Mr. Ahmed has been engaged in the Legal Profession since 2012, commencing his practice in the District Court of Dhaka, Bangladesh. During this tenure, he has gained practical knowledge and experience of practicing in the courts and tribunals subordinate to the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.
After two and a half years of practice in the District Courts of Dhaka, Mr. Ahmed commenced his practice at the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. He has specialized, in Writ Petitions, Civil Petition for Leave to Appeal for the Appellate Division and various other petitions of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. His area of practice is predominantly in the Telecommunication sector. Mr. Ahmed is primarily responsible for overseeing various Writ Petitions, suits and applications filed against Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) with regard to telecommunications and related disputes, in the High Court Division and the Appellate Division of the Honorable Supreme Court of Bangladesh.
Mr. Ahmed has been a key member of the legal team for the Bangabandhu Satellite Project, for Procurement of the Bangabandhu Satellite System, with the responsibility of vetting and negotiating International Contracts for : Securing Orbital Slot 119.1 Degree East Longitude and the Contract Agreement for: The In-Orbit Delivery of a Geosynchronous Satellite System for the Provision of Communications and Broadcasting Services to Bangladesh and Surrounding Region.
